Malak is CIMA's Deputy Editor. In this role, she coordinates CIMA's publication efforts, manages the blog, and ensures editorial standards are upheld through editing and fact checking.
Prior to joining CIMA, she was a research assistant at Georgetown University’s Center for Democracy and Civil Society. She has a background in local and national news reporting owing to her experiences as a freelance journalist based in Doha, Qatar, as well as her time as an intern at USA TODAY.
Malak holds a B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University in Qatar and an M.A. in Government from Georgetown University, with a concentration in Democracy and Governance.
