Join CIMA for an interactive online discussion on June 26 at 10:00 a.m.
Back in May, CIMA hosted a webinar that didn’t work due to connectivity issues. We took some time to learn from our mistakes and will be back in action on Thursday, June 26 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Eastern time!
It has been an exciting month in the media development world. In CIMA’s continued effort to raise awareness about media’s importance in the post-2015 agenda, we hosted a meeting with many of our partners to form a position paper highlighting the wide variety of indicators already produced by UNESCO that currently track compliance for freedom of expression. This paper was distributed in New York for the Open Working Group.
Join CIMA senior director Mark Nelson and Article 19’s Quinn McKew in a discussion about media’s role in strengthening accountability and bringing us up to speed on the current standing of media in the Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, a new panelist, Magnus Ag from the committee to Protect Journalists will be offering his expertise on both the connection between press freedom and overall development as well as what we can be doing to better engage with the global south.
This event will conclude LenCD’s CD4Results spring webinar series. The discussion will be held live on NED’s YouTube channel. Click here to watch the event live. Audience participation is encouraged, so send your questions to @CIMA_Media using #mediadev.
